Dereck Lively II Trending Toward Playing Game 1 for Dallas Mavericks

Mavs Turn Everything Around Following Loss to Jazz

Mavs Win Game 2 Thanks in Part to Lively's Contributions

The Dallas Mavericks have turned everything around following their loss to the Utah Jazz in Game 1 of their Western Conference Semifinals series. The Mavs won Game 2 on Tuesday night by a score of 110-104, and they now lead the series 1-1.

One of the biggest factors in the Mavs' Game 2 win was the play of rookie forward Dereck Lively II. Lively, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, played 25 minutes off the bench and finished with 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks.

Lively's performance was particularly impressive considering that he had not played in an NBA game since March 8. He missed the end of the regular season and the first round of the playoffs with a knee injury.

The Mavericks are now hoping that Lively can continue to play well in Game 1 of the series. The Mavs will host the Jazz in Game 1 on Thursday night.
